Figure Modeling: Designing the Pose will be a 5 day intensive workshop designed for all experience levels in figure modeling. The class will work from life at an 18” scale with oil based clay. Students will begin by exploring several poses through quick clay thumbnail sketches. Through group discussion, the class will choose a pose for the final project. With the pose established, the focus will shift to developing a figure modeling method. Alicia will break down her 3 stage process for figure modeling, setting specific goals with each stage. Teaching methods will include brief lectures, demonstration, and individual feedback. (Casting will not be covered in class).
